MISSHA's Super Off line is one of the most-purchased cleansing oils in Korea, with multiple versions for different skin concerns. The Dryness Off variant (red cap) is formulated for dry and dehydrated skin: a rice bran oil base blended with camellia seed oil and moringa oil, designed to melt through heavy sunscreen and makeup while leaving the skin's barrier hydrated rather than stripped. The 305ml bottle is the large economy size, priced at $37.44. On a per-ml basis, this is one of the best-value cleansing oils from a mainstream Korean brand.
Cleansing oils in Korean routines do the same job as micellar water in Western routines but better: they dissolve oil-soluble dirt, sunscreen, waterproof makeup, and sebum without scrubbing the barrier. The "Dryness Off" version stands out from the other Super Off variants (which target oil-control or brightening) because its emulsification is formulated to leave a thin hydrating veil rather than a completely stripped finish. Dry-skin users and users over 30 who feel tight after cleansing consistently rate this as their preferred first cleanse.
The oil blend dissolves sebum, sunscreen, foundation, and pollution particles from the skin surface. When water is added during rinse, the emulsifiers create a milky cleansing solution that rinses cleanly. Rice bran and camellia oils supply fatty acids that reinforce the skin's lipid barrier during the cleanse. Moringa oil adds antioxidant support. Unlike micellar water, this removes waterproof mascara and heavy SPF without rubbing.
On dry hands and dry face, pump 3 to 4 times of product. Massage in gentle circles across the face for 30 to 60 seconds, focusing on makeup-heavy areas (eyes, lips, T-zone). Add a few drops of water and continue massaging to emulsify; the oil will turn milky. Rinse with lukewarm water. Follow with a water-based second cleanse. For eye makeup removal specifically: keep eyes closed, massage gently, and don't rub hard.
Banila Co Clean It Zero is a balm format that melts on contact. DHC uses olive oil as a base. MISSHA Super Off uses rice bran and camellia, which are lighter-weight and closer to Asian-skin sebum profile. For heavy makeup removal: Banila Co is most aggressive. For gentle daily use: MISSHA or DHC. MISSHA's Dryness Off specifically holds a slight edge for dry skin due to its emulsion profile.
This variant is formulated for dry skin. For oily or acne-prone skin, MISSHA's Super Off Oily or Pore Off variants are better matches. On oily skin, this Dryness Off variant may feel slightly heavy, though still non-comedogenic for most users.
Yes. It removes waterproof mascara and eyeliner effectively. Keep eyes closed, work gently, and rinse thoroughly. If it gets into the eye, rinse with clean water immediately; oil in the eye is uncomfortable but not dangerous.
Yes. Even when the oil emulsifies fully, residue remains. A water-based second cleanse ensures the skin is genuinely clean for your serums and creams to absorb. Common pair: MISSHA oil first cleanse, then a gentle foam or cream cleanser second.
Daily PM use: 4 to 6 months depending on pump habits. Once-daily use for heavy makeup users: 3 to 4 months.
Pair with a second cleanse from the MISSHA collection or any foam cleanser. Browse more in Korean cleansing oils or double cleanse essentials.
