ETUDE's SoonJung line is the brand's sensitive-skin-focused range, stripped of fragrances, drying alcohols, and ingredients that reactive skin typically can't tolerate. The SoonJung Relief Toner is a 350ml bottle at pH 5.5 (skin-matched), built around panthenol and madecassoside (centella's calming isolate) for simple, gentle daily hydration. 350ml at $40.56 is one of the better per-ml values in the sensitive-skin toner category.
Size matters for toners. Cheap toners come in 200ml bottles you finish in 6 weeks, which discourages generous use. ETUDE's 350ml bottle lets you pour liberally, do the 7-skin method (multi-layer application), or simply saturate a cotton round without rationing. For skin that needs consistent hydration, volume encourages the behavior that actually works.
Panthenol (provitamin B5) supports barrier repair and hydration. Madecassoside calms inflammation and redness. Skin-matched pH (approximately 5.5) preserves the skin's acid mantle rather than disrupting it. The toner is watery, fragrance-free (or very minimal), alcohol-free. For post-cleanse hydration without irritation, this is a dependable baseline.
After cleansing, pour into palms (3 to 4 drops) or onto a cotton round, apply to face. For 7-skin method: repeat 3 to 7 times, pressing each layer in before the next. Follow with serum and moisturizer. Use AM and PM.
Most users finish in 3 to 5 months. Korean toners typically have 12 to 24 months shelf life unopened, 6 to 12 months opened. Use it generously rather than rationing.
COSRX and Klairs have similar sensitive-skin-first positioning. ETUDE SoonJung is slightly simpler formulation, better per-ml value. For more complex ingredient layering: Klairs Supple Preparation. For simple daily hydration on a budget: ETUDE SoonJung.
The madecassoside content supports redness reduction over consistent use. For persistent redness, pair with a targeted centella or azelaic acid treatment.
Yes. For most sensitive skin routines, one toner is sufficient. Stacking toners isn't necessary unless you want the 7-skin effect.
3 to 5 months with twice-daily use, shorter if doing 7-skin method.
