ETUDE HOUSE's Cute Eyes Maker is a micro-fine eyeliner designed for detail work: the inner corner, lower lash line dots, and the small precision needed for Korean-style "doll eye" makeup. Available in 2 colors and 0.08g per tube, this is a specialty liner rather than a daily thick liner. At $22.18 for 0.08g, the price-to-volume ratio looks high, but this is because the tip is so fine that one tube lasts 2 to 3 months of regular detail use.
The Korean doll eye makeup aesthetic uses very fine lines for inner corner highlighting, faux lower lash dots, and aegyo-sal (under-eye bag) enhancement. Regular eyeliners are too thick for this work; you need something closer to a gel pen tip. ETUDE designed this specifically for the younger makeup audience that follows Korean eye makeup trends where detail precision matters more than bold line weight.
The ultra-fine pen tip delivers precise pigment in narrow lines and dots without skipping or bleeding. The formula is smudge-resistant once dry, which is important for detail work that sits in tear-prone areas like the inner corner. The pigment is highly saturated, so a single stroke is enough for most applications (unlike cheaper liners that require multiple passes). It's specifically designed for the Korean "innocent doll-eye" look rather than Western bold graphic liner.
Ensure eye area is clean and dry (oil or cream interferes with pigment adhesion). For inner corner highlight: draw a small "v" shape in the tear duct area. For faux lower lashes: apply small dots or tiny lines along the lower lash line, just below the actual lashes. For aegyo-sal definition: draw a soft line beneath the natural under-eye bulge, blend with a fingertip or brush.
Allow 30 seconds to set before touching the area. Once set, it's smudge-resistant through a normal day. Remove with an oil or silicone makeup remover.
Tip size and intended use. Normal liner pens are designed for upper lash line definition, thicker lines, graphic wings. This is designed for micro-detail: tear duct, under-lash dots, aegyo-sal. The tip is meaningfully thinner. You can use a normal liner for both, but you can't use this for thick upper liner; it won't lay down enough pigment fast enough.
For detail-only use, yes, 2 to 3 months. If you try to use it as your primary liner, 3 to 4 weeks. The small volume matches the small-use case.
For very oily eyelids or watery tear-prone eyes, apply a primer or setting powder to the area first to create a dry surface. Without this prep, the liner may not adhere cleanly in these zones.
Yes, but for a very fine natural look. If you want bolder upper liner, choose a thicker liner. This works for subtle upper tightline or fine lash enhancement.
Once fully set (30 seconds), no. If you apply while the area is damp or oily, yes. Set properly, it holds for a full day of normal wear.
Pair with ETUDE HOUSE Mascara Remover for evening removal, or layer with a clean primer to extend wear. Browse eye makeup from the Korean eye makeup collection.
