Dr.Jart+'s Ceramidin line is the brand's flagship barrier-repair range, and this eye cream applies the same ceramide-forward philosophy to the under-eye area. At $64.42 for 15ml, it sits in the premium K-beauty eye cream tier. The formula is built around a 5-ceramide complex alongside panthenol and hyaluronic acid. Unlike many Korean eye creams that focus on dark circle brightening, this one targets the barrier dryness that causes crepiness, fine lines, and that specific "papery" quality of under-eye skin that isn't fully addressed by hydration alone.
Dr.Jart+ is one of the earliest K-beauty dermocosmetic brands, launched in 2005 with a clinical positioning. The Ceramidin range specifically came from the insight that most skin barrier dysfunction can be traced to insufficient ceramides in the stratum corneum. This eye cream applies that thesis directly. If you know you have dry, crepey, or compromised under-eye skin and want ceramide rebuilding rather than caffeine or peptide eye cream, this is the targeted choice.
The 5-ceramide complex rebuilds the lipid matrix that holds together the stratum corneum, restoring barrier function in the thin, vulnerable under-eye skin. Panthenol calms and soothes. Hyaluronic acid delivers hydration. The cumulative effect over 4 to 6 weeks is smoother, plumper, more elastic under-eye skin with less visible fine-line crepiness. This is not a dark circle product; it's a texture and barrier product.
Dispense a rice-grain-sized amount onto the ring finger (gentlest finger for under-eye application). Tap gently along the orbital bone, from the inner corner outward, without rubbing or dragging. Don't apply too close to the lash line, as product migration can cause irritation. Use after your serum and before your facial moisturizer. Morning and evening use is the standard protocol.
For very dry under-eyes: apply a second thin layer at night only. For immediate depuffing before events: store the tube in the refrigerator and apply cold.
Not meaningfully. Dark circles have multiple causes: pigmentation, vascular visibility, hollow anatomy, and thin skin. This cream addresses only the skin quality component. For true dark circle fading, you need vitamin C or niacinamide eye products alongside good sleep. For dark circles from anatomy or vascularity, nothing topical dramatically helps.
Different philosophies. Estée Lauder leans on antioxidants and a proprietary technology called Chronolux. Dr.Jart+ focuses entirely on ceramide barrier restoration. For dryness and texture: Dr.Jart+. For broader anti-aging with antioxidants: Estée Lauder. Both are premium-priced.
Yes. Apply retinol first, let absorb 3 minutes, then this cream as the soothing seal. The ceramides reduce retinol-related dryness and flaking, which is common in the under-eye area.
Twice-daily use: 3 to 4 months. The small-dose application (rice-grain) makes the tube last longer than expected. Eye creams in this range are intentionally small; you don't need more product for the area.
Lightly along the crow's feet area: yes. Directly on the upper eyelid: yes, but sparingly. Avoid contact with the lash line to prevent watery eyes or migration into the eyes. For crow's feet specifically, extend application outward along the outer corner.
Pair with Dr.Jart+ Dermask Soothing Hydra Solution Pro for full-face hydration, or layer a barrier-repair cream from the barrier repair collection around the eye area.
