d'Alba is a Korean clean-beauty brand built around Italian white truffle extract, sourced from the Piedmont region and used across their lineup as the signature luxury ingredient. The Blanc de Runway setting fixer is d'Alba's answer to the classic makeup setting spray, but with a serum-forward positioning: it is designed to both set makeup and deliver skincare benefits throughout the day, rather than functioning as a pure fixer.
At 80ml and $37, this is priced above drugstore setting sprays (Urban Decay, Milani) and competes with mid-range Korean setting sprays like Tirtir's. The value is in the skincare overlap: if you view it as part setting spray, part midday mist, the price reasoning improves. If you only need pure setting, cheaper products deliver similar hold.
The fine-mist spray delivers a film-forming polymer that sets makeup and increases wear time. White truffle extract, hyaluronic acid, and peptides provide a skincare-layer benefit: skin stays slightly more hydrated under makeup, and midday reapplication refreshes rather than cakes. The finish is dewy-to-natural, not matte, so oily skin users will want to powder before or after for matte preference.
After completing makeup, hold the bottle 8 to 10 inches from the face and spray 3 to 5 times in an X or T pattern. Let air-dry (30 seconds) or gently pat to speed setting. For midday refresh, mist once or twice from further away and pat gently into skin. Do not spray directly into open eyes or mouth.
8 to 10 hours in normal wear. Less in high humidity, exercise, or oily-skin flush conditions. Stronger setting sprays (Urban Decay All Nighter) last longer but have no skincare benefit.
Yes, moderately. The finish adds a slight sheen that flatters most skin. Oily skin users may find it too dewy; powder first.
Yes. The skincare components (HA, truffle, peptides) make it usable as a skin refresh mist on bare skin.
Different philosophies. Urban Decay locks makeup in place with stronger polymers; minimal skincare benefit. d'Alba sets makeup moderately with skincare benefits. For event-level lock-in, Urban Decay. For daily wear with skin comfort, d'Alba.
Mild. Not overpowering. Fragrance-sensitive users usually tolerate it.
Pair with d'Alba White Truffle Prime Intensive Serum or d'Alba White Truffle Lip Balm to complete the line.
