COSRX's Airy-Light Invisible Sun Stick is a 19g solid sunscreen in stick form, delivering SPF50+ PA++++ protection in a format designed for on-the-go reapplication. The "Invisible" positioning means no white cast and no visible residue after application, which is the key selling point for stick sunscreens; older stick formulations often left a chalky trace. At $35.36, this is COSRX's premium SPF stick, competing with Japanese stick sunscreens like Anessa.
Sunscreen reapplication is the weak point in most people's sun protection: applying enough initially is hard, reapplying after 2 hours is harder, and doing it over makeup is nearly impossible with liquid formulations. Sticks solve the reapplication problem by letting you swipe directly over makeup without disrupting the base. COSRX's entry into this category is a direct challenge to the dominant Japanese stick sunscreens.
Solid sunscreen stick with chemical UV filters delivers SPF50+ PA++++ protection in an easy-apply format. The "Airy-Light" formula is calibrated to avoid the chalky or greasy residue that older stick sunscreens produced. Apply directly over skin or over makeup for refresh without disruption. Pocket-sized and travel-friendly; no liquid restrictions for air travel.
Swipe directly onto clean skin or over makeup. For full face coverage, apply two to three passes per zone (forehead, cheeks, nose, chin, neck) to build a proper SPF layer. For touch-ups over makeup, 1 to 2 passes per zone. One stick provides enough SPF for many months of touch-up use, but is insufficient as the sole initial SPF for daily facial application; use a liquid sunscreen first, then this stick for refresh.
Not reliably. Getting the full labeled SPF from a stick requires more passes than most people do. For initial morning application, use a liquid sunscreen to ensure even coverage. Use the stick for reapplication throughout the day.
Minimally, if you're gentle. The stick glides over set makeup without pulling or smudging foundation. Avoid rubbing; use light swipes.
Anessa is the benchmark Japanese stick sunscreen, slightly more water-resistant and sport-oriented. Missha is a budget Korean option. COSRX sits in between: more premium than Missha, more skincare-focused than Anessa. For sport and swim, Anessa. For daily touch-up, COSRX.
Neither, which is the selling point of this formulation. Older stick sunscreens often had one or both problems; this one is calibrated to be invisible and non-greasy.
Solid sunscreen sticks are carry-on friendly for air travel (no liquid restrictions). Store at room temperature; extreme heat can soften the stick formulation.
