AESTURA is Amorepacific's medical-derm brand, the one Korean dermatologists hand out during consultations for patients with compromised skin. The A-CICA 365 toner sits at pH 4.5, which is slightly more acidic than most Korean toners and closer to skin's native barrier pH. This isn't a hydrating splash toner; it's a barrier-support prep layer for eczema-prone, post-procedure, or sensitized skin. At 200ml and $40.80, it's positioned for daily long-term use rather than trial.
AESTURA's two flagship lines are Atobarrier 365 (for dry barrier repair) and A-CICA 365 (for reactive, inflamed, or breakout-prone skin). The A-CICA line uses asiaticoside and madecassic acid, the active centella asiatica fractions, rather than raw cica extract. This is the clinical version of cica, and it's what AESTURA is known for: minimal fragrance, high-purity actives, conservative pH targeting.
Low pH (4.5) supports the acid mantle and prevents the barrier disruption that high-pH toners can cause. Asiaticoside and madecassic acid from centella calm inflammation and reduce erythema in reactive skin. The formulation avoids ethanol, fragrance, and essential oils, which is the baseline for dermatology-grade Korean skincare. Texture is watery, lightly hydrating, meant to prep skin for serum absorption without adding weight.
Use after cleansing, before essence or serum. Dispense 2 to 3 drops into palms, press into damp skin (face and neck). Can also be applied with a cotton pad for a light sweep if you prefer that application method. Twice daily, AM and PM. Let absorb 30 seconds before layering next product. One 200ml bottle lasts approximately 3 months with twice-daily use.
No. This is a prep and hydration step, not a treatment toner. It supports the barrier and calms inflammation gently, but if you have active flare-ups you need a serum or cream with higher active concentration afterward. Pair with the A-CICA 365 cream for the full treatment effect.
AESTURA is Amorepacific's clinical derm arm. Most cica brands (Isntree, Cosrx, Anua) use centella extract at unclear concentrations. AESTURA uses isolated asiaticoside and madecassic acid at clinically-relevant levels, which is why dermatologists in Korea recommend it for medical-grade use. The trade-off is higher price.
Yes. The fragrance-free, low-pH, barrier-supportive profile makes this one of the safer toners to pair with prescription retinoids or benzoyl peroxide. It won't interfere with the actives and may reduce the irritation these treatments cause.
A-CICA 365 targets inflammation, redness, and breakout-prone skin. Atobarrier 365 targets dry, eczema-prone, or barrier-damaged skin. If your main issue is redness or active breakouts, A-CICA. If your main issue is dryness, tightness, or eczema, Atobarrier.
Generally no, because there's no fragrance, ethanol, or essential oils. If you experience stinging, your barrier is more compromised than the toner can handle alone; in that case, pause actives and focus on cream-only barrier repair for 1 to 2 weeks before reintroducing toner.
Pair with AESTURA Theracne 365 Soothing Active Moisturizer as the cream step, or AESTURA Atobarrier 365 Lotion for a different barrier focus. Browse the AESTURA collection or related: Korean toners.
