Abib's Wild Acidic Water Cleanser is built around the same philosophy as the brand's Mild Acidic sheet masks: cleanse without shifting skin pH out of its healthy range. Most foaming cleansers hit pH 8 or higher, which strips the acid mantle and leaves skin tight or squeaky. This cleanser is formulated at pH 5.5, in a watery "cleansing water" format that foams lightly but doesn't deep-clean like a foam cleanser. At $34.32 for 250ml, it's priced as a mid-tier specialized cleanser, not a everyday staple.
Think of this as closer to a micellar water that actually rinses, rather than a foam. It's designed for morning cleansing when you don't need to remove makeup or sunscreen, and for sensitive skin that finds foam cleansers too drying. The "Wild Acidic" branding signals that the pH sits lower than typical cleansers, not that it contains exfoliating acids. It's a pH-conservative product, not an acid treatment.
Washes away overnight oil, sweat, and dust without disrupting the skin's acid mantle. The low pH means the cleanse is gentle enough that skin doesn't feel tight afterward, which is the classic sign of pH disruption. For sensitive, reactive, or rosacea-adjacent skin, this is the kind of cleanser that preserves barrier function rather than fighting it.
Dispense a coin-sized amount into wet hands, lather briefly, massage across damp skin for 30 to 60 seconds. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water. Use morning and evening, or evening only after oil cleansing if skin is very dry. Do not use on eye makeup, use a dedicated eye remover for that.
Not reliably. Pair with an oil cleanser first for full second-cleanse efficacy. Use this as step two of the double cleanse or as a morning-only cleanser.
Both are pH-conscious gentle cleansers. Round Lab has a slightly foamier lather. Abib is closer to a cleansing water. For tight, dry skin, Abib is gentler. For a more "clean" feel post-rinse, Round Lab is satisfying.
Yes, that's an ideal use case. Many dermatologists recommend water-only or very gentle cleanse in the morning for sensitive skin. This cleanser fits that protocol.
Immediate: skin doesn't feel tight after rinsing. Cumulative barrier improvement in 2 to 4 weeks. Reduced reactivity in 4 to 6 weeks.
Indirectly. A healthy barrier and acid mantle resist acne-causing bacteria better than a stripped one. But this isn't an acne treatment: it's a preserving cleanser. For active breakouts, pair with Heartleaf pads.
Pair with the Abib Heartleaf Spot Pad as your next step, or the Abib Jericho Rose Sheet Mask for weekly hydration.
