Most body washes on the shelf run alkaline (pH 8 to 10), which strips the skin's acid mantle and leaves the body vulnerable to dryness, itching, and bacterial overgrowth. Abib took the Heartleaf formulation philosophy and built a mild-acidic body wash around it, targeting the real problem: body skin is skin too, and it responds to pH-respectful cleansing the same way the face does. This is pH 5.5 body wash with 70% Heartleaf extract, designed for daily use by people with sensitive, eczema-prone, or reactive body skin.
At 470ml and $40, it is not the cheapest body wash available. What you are paying for is the concentrate-level Heartleaf extract and the formulation discipline: no harsh sulfates, no drying alcohols, no aggressive fragrance. A single bottle lasts 2 to 3 months of daily use.
The low-pH, sulfate-free surfactant system cleans the skin without breaking down the acid mantle or ceramide barrier. Heartleaf extract calms body redness and irritation, particularly on the chest, back, and thighs. Panthenol and allantoin reinforce hydration. The formula rinses cleanly without leaving a film, but also without the squeaky-dry feel that alkaline body washes leave behind.
Use daily in the shower. Dispense a quarter-sized amount onto a washcloth, loofah, or directly into hands. Lather gently, apply to damp skin, and rinse. Do not scrub aggressively with loofahs if you have sensitive skin, which defeats the purpose of a gentle cleanser. Follow with a body lotion or body oil while skin is still slightly damp for best hydration results.
Yes. Low-pH does not mean weak cleansing. The surfactant system removes sweat, sebum, sunscreen, and daily grime. It just does so without stripping the barrier. Gym-goers and summer users will find it effective.
Both are calming body washes targeting sensitive skin. Abib's Heartleaf focuses on redness and barrier support. SKIN1004's Centella is slightly more general-purpose. The Abib version has more pronounced calming for reactive skin; the SKIN1004 is more neutral. Pick based on your dominant concern.
Partially. It calms the redness and inflammation that make body acne visible. For the acne itself, you likely need a BHA or benzoyl peroxide body wash in rotation (2 to 3 times per week) alongside this as the daily gentle option.
Not recommended. It is formulated for body skin, which can handle slightly more surfactant than facial skin. Use a dedicated facial cleanser for the face.
Yes, the formula is suitable for sensitive family use. For diagnosed eczema, consult your dermatologist, but most sensitive-skin users tolerate it well.
Pair with Abib Heartleaf Essence for a matching facial regimen, or follow up post-shower with a hydrating body lotion.
